Ignoring a problem doesn't make it someone else's responsibility.

After moving to a new warehouse, one supervisor began receiving weekly calls from confused customers trying to return mystery packages shipped from the company's former address. When the new tenant insisted it had "no phones" and the landlord refused to help, he found a simple solution. For the next three years, every customer looking for answers received the landlord's personal cell number instead.

What a genius solution to fix this problem. I love when people who aren't collaborative get what they deserve. In this case, this landlord was not being helpful by returning those packages that he got, and the OP decided to put his personal phone number and have the customer go to the previous warehouse and pick them up there.

Although we don't know what happened in the end and what his response was when people started calling him for the packages, I hope he learned a good life lesson. When companies move and their address changes, sometimes it does take a while to have every system updated, so what happened is really nobody's fault. So, I think he could have been more cooperative and worked with these people to find a solution.

Eventually, the landlord probably realized that ignoring a problem doesn't make it disappear. In fact, it usually comes back in a much more inconvenient way. Every confused customer who called was simply trying to return an item, and instead of reaching the business responsible, they ended up contacting people who had nothing to do with it.

After being brushed off multiple times, the OP found a solution that shifted the inconvenience back to the person who refused to help. It wasn't about revenge as much as accountability. If you choose not to solve a problem when it's easy, don't be surprised when it becomes your problem later.
